The Seine is rising. Why can’t Lake Tahoe be rising? Why is all the water falling in France when we need it in California? Who is in charge of the weather anyway???!!! The Overseer needs some better coordination with where the rain is falling… Apparently no one is in charge…

This is what it feels like when our own lives get out of control. One day we are fine, progressing on a good path, and then suddenly things get out of control and we are buying canoes. How can we keep ourselves on a good, productive path when all hell seems to breaking out around us?

The answer for this is to focus on our key priorities—our goals.  Too many people write out goals in the beginning of the year, then file them away until next January to see how they did. That is like watering a plant once and expecting it to thrive. Plants need constant attention… water, fertilizer, sun, TLC!  If you leave out any of those ingredients, the plant will not reach its fullest potential.

We have goals. We have to keep them front and center every day to keep us on the right path. Brian Tracy says to write out your goals every day! That way your mind is actively working on achieving those goals. I am sure you know all the research about weight loss. The successful people write down everything they eat! They are paying attention to the details. Otherwise things can get out of control quickly. It’s like the dishes in the sink. If there are no dishes in the sink, you are more likely to put your plate right in the dish washers or wash it up. If there is a dish in the sink, you are more likely to add your dish to the collection. So it is best to never begin the pile and just put it right in the dishwasher. (such a mother speaking!)

So TODAY—review your goals for the year. Unbelievably, we are almost half way through the year! If you find that you are a bit off course, redirect yourself back on track. Don’t give up! Just realign yourself for success! You still have six months! And what are your highest priorities for today? What must you absolutely do TODAY?  EAT THAT FROG and get it done first thing in the morning! (More Brian Tracy and Mark Twain!)

Don’t let the waters build up and catch you unprepared! Get to it RIGHT NOW!!!  Don’t waste any more time reading these emails!!!  Get to work!

I have to go out and get my canoe!!!

The Rising Seine

Here is where we had dinner last week. Now it is all underwater! You can’t even see the wall we were sitting on! This is June 5, 2016.

The Rising Seine

The Seine was already high the night we had dinner there, May 28, 2016.
