Rachel (name has been changed for privacy reasons) wanted a new man in her life. She had been focusing on finding a partner for a long time, but the type of man that was drawn to her was not what she desired. She was tired of playing “mom.” She wanted a real partner. 

After some coaching, Rachel realized she had no space in her life for a partner. Her closets were overflowing with her own stuff. Her schedule was packed. She talked about her dog as if he was her life partner, which is how she felt. 

She knew things had to shift if she was going to find the life partner she deeply desired.

Rachel started clearing out stuff that no longer served her. She

  • gave books to the library 
  • donated household items to Goodwill
  • consigned clothes to a nearby shop and 
  • cleared up her calendar 

what was not essential was eliminated. 

Rachel also changed her thought process. She became aware of the qualities in a relationship that were important to her. She began to visualize her ideal mate. She no longer accepted dates just to fill in time on Friday and Saturday nights. She preferred her own company.

All in all, Rachel changed. 

She learned to be happy with herself.  And with the change came new opportunities for her to try new and different things. 

When you change your environment, both internal and external, shifts happens.

And why not do it in the company of others suffering from the same burden? It’ll be great fun! You will become energized by the release of the old times! You will find time you didn’t realize was there.
